In Canada, the naturopathic medical profession includes accredited educational institutions, professional licensing, and national standards of practice that include the following:
- Undergraduate degree of pre-medical sciences. Dr. Dickson completed a Bachelor of Health Science at the University of Western Ontario.
- 4 year full-time program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, an accredited school of Naturopathic Medicine that includes more than 4,500 hours of classroom training and 1,500 hours of supervised clinical experience.
- Passing NPLEX board exams that are written after the 2nd year and 4th year of study. NPLEX is the standard examination used by all licensing jurisdictions in North America.
- Meeting the Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits as required by the provincial regulatory boards on an ongoing basis.
In addition to the above training Dr Dickson has the following qualifications:
- Board Certified for Parenteral (IV) Therapy in Ontario.
- Certified First Line Therapy – Clinical Weight Loss Program
- Certified in Mesotherapy from Pinewood Institute, the advancement of Natural Therapies;Â Cosmetic Medicine and Pain Management
- Naturopathic License in Ontario, Regulated through the BDDT-N
