Ultrasound

Therapeutic ultrasound uses high- frequency sound waves through vibration to transmit thermal effects through the body’s tissues. This heat promotes circulation, reduces muscle spasms and accelerates the healing process. It is great for the treatment of tendonitis, joint stiffness and soft tissue injuries (muscle strains). It can target deep-seated tissues and muscles and is good for both acute and chronic conditions.

It is different from diagnostic ultrasound, which is used for imaging. Therapeutic ultrasound waves penetrate the skin and produce deep heat in tissues, which can increase blood flow, reduce muscle spasms, and enhance tissue repair.

What can Ultrasound be used for?

  •  • Pain Relief: Helps in reducing pain from conditions like arthritis, tendinitis, and bursitis.
  •  • Healing: Accelerates the healing of injured tissues and reduces inflammation.
  •  • Muscle Relaxation: Can help relax tight muscles and improve flexibility.

Sessions typically last between 5 to 15 minutes and may be repeated multiple times a week. Benefits of ultrasound are usually felt after 6 to 12 visits.  However, when it is combined with other natural healing approaches like chiropractic care, decompression, acupuncture or naturopathy, results can be amplified and accelerated.
